All this blood bank and hospital stuff is really depressing, and I was thinking, is there like... idk a way to set up our own blood drive? Not here, obviously, but like, in District X, specifically for mutants (yes Quentin you can stand at the entrance like a bouncer and say "sorry no flatscans". Maybe try to be nice though?). Schools set up blood drives all the time, we donated at Berkley like nine times, and I know that was run through Red Cross or something. So theoretically we could get a hospital or somewhere around here to do one too, right?

Just a thought, I mean. There has to be something we can do, even it's just a rinky dink thing in District X.

Has anyone ever actually done any research on that though? Like, if you have poison blood as part of your mutation then obviously that isn't safe to use on anyone, human or mutant. But like I said, Lorna and I donated for years at school and no one ever said anything about it...

There is a clinic in District X. Might want to check there first. They might not have the means to store blood that had been donated - but I am sure there is people here that wouldn't mind donating to the cause.

I'm reasonably certain you can't just collect blood samples and give them to a hospital for clinical use. It's not like a canned food or clothing drive. You need trained, certified professionals involved in the collection, storage, and shipment of any biospecimen.

Hmm, the Claremont might be interested. How about see if I can find someone who will be able to tell you more? I do know that in the ER we sometimes have to use blood that is slightly different on mutants, so this might actually help them as well.

Sometimes, though, the primary or secondary mutation changes how the blood... Bloods. Creates new subtypes or whatever. You think that you managed to get an energy projection mutation without a single systemic change? Who knows what kind of problems you created.

Bro. You think Lor and I are the only good Samaritan mutants in the world? I guarantee hundreds of non-visible mutants donate blood a day, if not plasma because it's a great way to get some quick cash if you're broke (I never did, but I have friends who have). If anyone's ever been hurt by mutant blood, it's SOMEWHERE in a news clip on the internet (and I mean legit, not Brietbart or the screaming dude I unfortunately share a name with), and EVERYONE would be talking about how some mutant is poisoning blood supplies. Stuff like that would NOT fly under the radar. They'd already be testing every single person who walks through the door for the x-gene.

But they're not. They're basing it on visible mutants, because they don't have proof mutant blood actually effects people. If they did it would've hit the news years ago. Donating blood plasma has been the poor man's way of making a quick buck for years, and donating blood gets you free food (cookies, but food is food. And some of those cookies are damn good).

1) If someone had told us when we were in school it might hurt someone, do you think we would have done it? The possibility has never been (legitimately, off conspiracy sites) brought up before now.

2) Everything negative does. Everything that might threaten "normal" people certainly does.

We - mutants - haven't been out that long. Most of the research about shit like this? The Soviets were doing it. Australian public health programs. Shady companies looking for things that affect x force. The Genoshans.

This is the stuff that never ended up on the internet. The Soviets never let those people leave the gulags. Genoshans don't talk. The companies buy silence. Etc.

Fine. Other mutants then? Anywhere that's not taking mutant blood probably isn't taking mutant patients either. If they're not going to help us, then we need to help each other. If that means we get fifty mutant donors and it all goes to the clinic some of the doctors work at, then cool. It's better than nothing.
